What you will do
Growth marketers run experiments. Instead of owning one channel you look at the whole funnel, form hypotheses, test them quickly and keep what works. The role is common in startups and in subscription and app businesses, and it asks for comfort with data, some technical sense and a tolerance for tests that fail.
Skills you use
- Experiment design and A/B test statistics
- Funnel and cohort analysis
- Conversion rate optimisation
- Channel knowledge across paid, SEO and lifecycle
- Spreadsheet modelling
- Telling real results from noise
Tools
- GA4
- Optimizely
- VWO
- Microsoft Clarity
- Amplitude
- Looker Studio
- Google Sheets
Typical tasks
- Build and prioritise a backlog of experiments
- Design A/B tests with a sample size and a clear decision rule
- Improve landing pages, onboarding and pricing pages
- Analyse funnels and cohorts to find the biggest drop-offs
- Try new acquisition channels with small budgets
- Report learnings, including the tests that failed

Questions
Is growth marketing just for startups?
It started there, but larger companies with online products now hire for it too. Titles vary: growth manager, CRO specialist, lifecycle marketer.
What background helps?
Any hands-on mix of paid media, analytics and conversion work. Statistics basics are valuable: knowing when a test result is real and when it is noise.
Where do the salary numbers come from?
From published salary surveys, official statistics and job listings. Every country lists its sources with dates, and each row carries a confidence rating. The ranges are typical, not promises, and your offer depends on the company, the city and your skills.
Does FunnelGym guarantee a job?
No. FunnelGym teaches by practice and gives you projects to show. Hiring is the employer's decision, and results depend on your own experience and effort.
How often is the data updated?
We refresh it regularly and show the last collection date for each country. When a number is missing, we say that it is being researched rather than guess.
